“I am busy.” “I don’t have time.” Are these common statements that you say to your love ones when you are pursuing success? Well, they are my common statements.
There were times I was so caught up with delivering the work, attending events evening, catching up with friends for dinner that I don’t see my family at all for a week despite staying under the same roof.
Although I do my best to have dinner with them whenever I can, there were times that I just couldn’t. (Or maybe it wasn’t my priority.) If there is a Billboard on Top Family Person, I wouldn’t make this list.
So the beginning of 2015, I adjusted my priorities, my family went for a vacation together. It has been a years since we last travelled together. It doesn’t matter where we go, the time spend with them is more important than anything else.
In the last two years, this thought keep surfacing, “how many more years do I still have with my parents?” No one can avoid the inevitable. No one can freeze time to stop death. This brought up a lot of fear in me, the fear of losing them. So I have to accept it when the time comes.
All I can do now is to be with them for as long as I can. Give them the happiness that they are looking for, just like how they brought happiness to me when I was young.
What I want to do now is to fulfill as many of their dreams as I can. At the end of the day, these experiences with them will become beautiful memories between us.
All of us are surround by people whom we love. Take time to be with them because the experiences with them will turn into beautiful memories between them and you. Have you been investing time with your love ones lately?
