Consistent Effort Generate Consistent Result

In the recent months, I’ve proven one thing about generating good results in life. This experience reinforces my belief on one ingredient for success. From my observation and personal experience, the lack of this ingredient can make you go round in circles, and not reaching your destination.

I set one goal in the last four months – to gain weight. I used to weigh 57kg. Based on my height, I was not underweight, but almost. My friends are envy of me as I don’t seem to gain weight easily like them. I can only thank my parents for the good gene. But I reckon I’ll look better with a few more pounds.

A Vacation in Krabi That Is Long Overdue

On the Way to Emerald Pool
A long four years since I last had a holiday! A relaxing five days trip to Krabi, Southern part of Thailand, where Tsunami hit this place in 2004. In this trip, my beautiful and cheerful wife has one rule – I can’t go online for more than 30 minutes a day. I understand why she wants to set this rule, and gladly agree.

Although I always encourage my coaching clients to go for a short getaway, I don’t really have one myself. So this break really comes timely. Visiting a new beach fulfills one of my dreams. It kills three birds with one throw. Firstly, quality time with my wife, secondly taking a break myself to rejuvenate. Lastly, moving closer towards my dream of visiting all the beaches in the World.

Before I go, a friend asked have I plan my itinerary. I replied no. Because I don’t like to plan too much in trip. It’s suppose to be free and easy.

10th Anniversary of My Life

Year 2013 is an important year. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of many memorable events in my life. Looking back, year 2003 was the turning point of my life, the beginning of a new life.

10th Anniversary in Book

I like to talk about this book. Though I read it in 2002, 11 years to be exact; it was the turning point of my journey. After reading this book, I was certain to walk the path of an entrepreneur. Such an instrumental book to my life, and many of you would have read it as well. It is none other than, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. A simple concept of the cashflow quadrant, E, S, B, I in the book, opened new possibilities for many.

From the concept in the book, I decided to walk away from the ‘E’ quadrant. I wanted my freedom, to manage my time. I don’t like the idea of having someone else managing my time.

10th Anniversary in Seminar

Year 2003, I attended my first self-paid, 4-digit seminar. What a turning point! What an eye opener! What a transformation! This is the mother of all seminars. If there’s only one program you can attend in your lifetime, it has to be this seminar. Introducing the Money & You Program.

Money & You opened my mindset to relationship, business, money and life. Many events that occurred after were related to Money & You. Below, you’ll see the events unfolding due to Money & You.

10th Anniversary In Business

Became my own boss in 2003. Started Actionpreneur Pte Ltd with $20 after Money & You which opened me to some mindset blowing business principles and ideas. Had many learning experiences since embarking on this journey. Had lots of fun too.

Running a business opened me to many new adventures. From meeting new people to new opportunities. Done things that I wouldn’t do as an employee. Achieved personal breakthroughs over and over again in these 10 years.

Never regret walking this path.

10th Anniversary In Friends

Most of my friends since 2003 are from Money & You. Till now, the common denominator with most of my friends is Money & You. This program forged a strong bonding between people. Some of them are still my great friends after 10 years. This year is our 10 years anniversary as friends.

Sean, Me, Clive and Ken

There were breakdowns in our friendship. There were times that we didn’t talk to one another, had judgements on one another. The thing is we are hanging out happily in year 2013 with one another. Even though we had our breakdowns, our friendship stood the test.

10th Anniversary In Marriage

Lastly, the most important turning point of my life. The woman who believes in me when I’m down and out. In 2003, we officially became husband and wife by law. For 10 years, she continues to believe in me over and over again.

My lovely wife

My lovely wife

We went through hardship together, laugh and cry together. She’s really the woman behind the man. She demonstrated LOVE, and anger. When people left, she was here. She witnessed the ups and downs of my 10 years. Thank you, Jean.

What About You
How has it been like for you in the last 10 years? What are your 10th anniversary? What are you grateful for in the last 10 years? Are there friends or family whom you missed? Are there events that allow you to learn more about yourself?

Have fun recalling your past 10 years.

Encouraging Emails From Participants of Public Presentation Mastery

This month is a slightly busier month. I am either conducting or supporting programs on every weekends. Last weekend, together with the team consists of Douglas Ng, Vincent Tan, Jayson Yap, Serena Liew and Subrina Ng, we conducted our sole-proprietor program, Public Presentation Mastery.

I said it before and I like to say it again. This is not your typical public speaking course. Many of the participants mentioned it as well, “a very different public presentation course”. You don’t just learn presentation skills, you learn presenting with a soul.

More Than 10,000 Hours In Outliers

One of the important books of my life is Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. The main gist about this book is 10,000 hours.

Based on the book, successful people invested 10,000 hours of practice to be where they are. He provides examples of Bill Gates and Beatles who invested many hours of practice on programming and music respectively in their youth. The many hours of practice moved them to the rank of Outliers.

So is it a guarantee that clocking 10,000 hours equate to success? Are there some who invested 10,000 hours and never really got in front?

8 Must-Do’s To Have a Purposeful Life

Over the Chinese New Year holiday, I was engrossed on a new Playstation 3 game, Kingdom of Amalur. The game demonstrates eight ways to have a purposeful life. I bought the game because of the trailer and gameplay. I expected to be immersed by the action, I didn’t expect to be blown away by the depth of this game. What I didn’t really expect is the gameplay is so closely ties to our daily living.

Kingdom of Amalur reminds me to live a purposeful life. In this post, you will learn eight must-do’s to live a purposeful life.
